Highest temperature in Los Angeles on June 13?
What you need to know
This market is asking a simple weather question: how hot will Los Angeles get on June 13, 2026? Specifically, it asks which temperature range will contain the single highest temperature of that day, measured at LAX airport. A 'Yes' on 72–73°F means the day's peak falls somewhere in that two-degree window. The ranges on offer cover 70°F up to 75°F, so the question is essentially whether it's a mild or slightly warmer June day at the airport. The market settles based on the peak temperature recorded at LAX (station code KLAX) on June 13, 2026, pulled from Weather Underground. Whatever whole-number Fahrenheit high is logged there, the range that contains it wins. One detail worth knowing: the reading is locked in once the first data point for June 14 appears — meaning any last-minute corrections to the June 13 data after that cutoff won't count. No recent news relevant to this market was provided. The two headlines from June 12 cover celebrity gossip and geopolitics — neither touches Los Angeles weather. For this market, the only thing that would really matter is a short-range weather forecast for the LAX area on June 13, 2026, which would only become meaningful in the days immediately before that date. June weather in Los Angeles is actually fairly predictable by historical standards — early June tends to be mild and overcast near the coast, a pattern locals call 'June Gloom.' That's probably why the market clusters tightly around 70–73°F. Still, marine layer strength varies year to year, and a single warm offshore flow could push the high several degrees above the expected range. The measurement is also from LAX specifically, which sits close to the ocean and often reads cooler than inland parts of the city.
