What you need to know

This market is asking: on June 13, 2026, how hot will it get in San Francisco? Specifically, it's asking you to pick a two-degree temperature range — like 76–77°F or 74–75°F — that will match the single highest temperature recorded that day. It's not about the average temperature or how warm the morning feels; it's purely about the peak, the hottest reading of the whole day, measured at San Francisco International Airport. After June 13, 2026 ends, the market checks one specific data source — Weather Underground's records for San Francisco International Airport (station code KSFO) — and finds the highest temperature logged that day, rounded to a whole number in Fahrenheit. Whichever two-degree range contains that number wins. For example, if the peak reading is 77°F, the 76–77°F range resolves Yes. The market waits until the first data point for June 14 appears before finalizing, to allow any same-day corrections to be captured. No recent news was provided that relates to this market. For a question like this, what would actually matter to watch for closer to the date is the seasonal weather pattern for early-to-mid June in San Francisco — including whether any unusual heat events or marine layer conditions are forecast for that specific day. San Francisco's weather is genuinely hard to pin down even a day in advance, let alone a year out. The city sits between the cool Pacific Ocean and the warmer Bay, so a slight shift in wind direction can swing daily highs by 10°F or more. The market's odds are spread fairly evenly across several ranges — 74–75°F at 25%, 76–77°F at 27%, 78–79°F at 17% — which honestly reflects how wide the uncertainty is. No forecast model can reliably predict a specific two-degree window a year ahead.
