"Scary Movie" 2nd Weekend Box Office
What you need to know
This market is asking how much money the new 'Scary Movie' film earns at the domestic box office during its second weekend in theaters — specifically the three-day period of June 12–14, 2026. The three brackets on offer are $14–15 million, $15–16 million, and $16–17 million. Whichever range the actual reported figure falls into is the one that 'wins.' It's essentially a question about how well the film holds up after its opening week, which movies typically see drop. The market settles — resolves — based on the final domestic gross reported by The Numbers website for the June 12–14 weekend. Crucially, it uses the confirmed final figure, not the studio's early estimate released on Sunday night. If the number falls exactly on the border between two brackets, the higher bracket wins. If The Numbers hasn't posted final data by June 21, 2026, the organizers will find another credible source. Both Box Office Mojo and The Numbers must agree before the result is considered confirmed. None of the provided news headlines relate to the 'Scary Movie' film, its box office performance, or the entertainment industry at all. There is no relevant recent news to point to here. What would actually matter to watch for is any reported opening-weekend figure for the film, critic and audience reception scores, and early tracking data — those are the signals that typically predict a film's second-weekend performance. Second-weekend box office is genuinely hard to call because it depends on several forces at once: how strong the opening weekend was, how audiences rated it by word of mouth, what competing films open that same weekend, and even local weather or news events that keep people home or out. Without knowing the opening weekend result yet, the range of outcomes is wide. The market currently leans toward the $14–15 million bracket at 46%, but the $15–16 million bracket isn't far behind at 39%, reflecting real uncertainty.

How this resolves
Resolves June 15, 2026
This market will resolve according to how much "Scary Movie" Weekend Box Office will gross domestically on its second weekend. The "Daily Box Office Performance" figures found on the “Box Office” tab on this movie's The Numbers (https://www.the-numbers.com/) page will be used to resolve this market once the values for the 3-day weekend (June 12 - June 14) are final (i.e., not studio estimates). If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Please note, this market will resolve according to the The Numbers figures provided under Weekend Box Office Performance for the 3-day weekend (which typically includes Thursday's previews), regardless of whether domestic refers to only the USA, or to USA and Canada, etc. If there is ambiguity as to whether the resolution source's figures are final, this market will remain open until both https://www.boxofficemojo.com/ and https://www.the-numbers.com/ have confirmed their finalized figures. If there is no final data available by June 21, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen.
