World Cup: Group E Last Place

93%sportsUpdated 11 min ago

What you need to know

This market is asking which team will finish dead last in Group E of the 2026 FIFA World Cup — meaning they end the group stage with the worst record among the four teams in that group. A 'Yes' on Curaçao means they finish bottom of Group E and are eliminated with the poorest result; a 'Yes' on Ivory Coast or Ecuador means one of them unexpectedly finishes below the others instead. Once the Group E matches finish (scheduled for June 11–27, 2026), whichever team has the worst standing — fewest points, and then by FIFA's official tiebreakers if teams are level — is declared last place and that option wins. FIFA's official standings are the source of truth. One edge case worth knowing: if the group stage is cancelled or delayed past July 11, 2026 with no official result, the market settles as 'Other' rather than any named team. None of the provided recent headlines relate to the 2026 World Cup or Group E. The kind of news that would matter here includes match results from the group stage itself, injury updates for key players, or any team suspensions — so if you're following this market, those are the things worth watching. The market is heavily lopsided — Curaçao is priced around 92%, reflecting that they are widely considered the weakest team in the group compared to Ivory Coast and Ecuador. At that level, the main uncertainty isn't really 'which team is weakest' but rather whether something unexpected happens: a surprise Curaçao result, injuries to key Ivory Coast or Ecuador players, or an unusual points tiebreak situation. The outcome is not guaranteed — upsets do happen in football.

How this resolves

Resolves July 20, 2026

This market will resolve according to the team that finishes last place of Group E in the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage, scheduled for June 11-27, 2026. If multiple teams tie for bottom of the group, this market will resolve according to the official tiebreak procedure of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. If the World Cup group stage is cancelled, postponed after July 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no bottom-place team declared for this group within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
