World Cup: Ivory Coast Stage of Elimination

47%sportsUpdated 5 min ago

What you need to know

This market is asking how far Ivory Coast will go in the 2026 FIFA World Cup before they get knocked out. The World Cup in 2026 is expanding to 48 teams, which means there is a new opening round called the Round of 32 — so Ivory Coast could exit earlier than in past tournaments. A 'Round of 32' result means they lose in the very first knockout game. 'Round of 16' means they win one game but lose the next. 'Quarterfinals' means they reach the last eight teams. The market currently prices their most likely exit as that first round. This market settles on whatever round Ivory Coast is officially eliminated from the 2026 World Cup, which runs through July 19, 2026. FIFA's official records are the source of truth, though credible news reporting can also be used. One edge case worth knowing: if Ivory Coast is disqualified or withdraws mid-tournament, the market settles on the furthest round they actually completed — not where they would have played next. If the entire tournament is cancelled or postponed past August 2, 2026, the market resolves as 'Other' instead. None of the recent news provided relates to Ivory Coast or the 2026 World Cup. No relevant updates were included here. The kind of news that would matter includes Ivory Coast's group-stage results and bracket placement, injury reports for key players like Sébastien Haller, and which teams they face in the knockout rounds. The main challenge is that tournament football is genuinely unpredictable — a single bad game ends your run. Ivory Coast is a solid African side but not a favorite against the world's top teams. The market prices roughly a 47% chance they exit in the first knockout round, which reflects real uncertainty rather than a clear lean either way. Their group draw and bracket path matter enormously, and those details — plus player fitness and form during the tournament — can shift things quickly in ways no one can fully anticipate in advance.
