World Cup: Player to be in England's Starting 11

98%sportsUpdated 14 min ago

What you need to know

This market asks whether specific England players — Declan Rice, Harry Kane, and Jordan Pickford — will actually be on the pitch at kick-off for England's very first match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A 'Yes' means that player is physically in the starting lineup when the referee blows the whistle to begin the game. A 'No' means they didn't start — whether due to injury, suspension, the manager's choice, or anything else. Each player resolves 'Yes' only if they are physically on the field at kick-off of England's first group stage game at the 2026 World Cup. There is one important edge case: if a player is named in the starting lineup but gets injured or withdrawn in the warm-up before the match begins, that still counts as 'No' — announcement alone is not enough. If the World Cup is cancelled or postponed past June 29, 2026, all markets resolve 'No' regardless. The provided news headlines — about Marvel, Netflix, a SpaceX IPO, and a letter from a goose — have no connection to England football or the 2026 World Cup. There is no relevant recent news to report here. The things worth watching for would be injury updates for these players, England squad announcements, and the confirmed date of England's first group stage fixture. All three players are priced above 95%, which reflects how firmly established they are as England starters — Rice and Kane are arguably England's two most important outfield players, and Pickford has been the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for years. The main real uncertainty is injury or a late withdrawal before kick-off, which is a genuine but uncommon risk. The market is not treating this as a close call, and that reflects reality — the surprise scenario is the only one creating meaningful doubt.

How this resolves

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player takes the field as a member of England's official starting lineup for the first group stage game the nation plays at 2026 FIFA World Cup. Otherwise, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If a player is officially announced as part of the starting lineup but is replaced before the game begins for any reason, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". Only players that are on the pitch at kick off will be counted toward a "Yes" resolution. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed after June 29, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the listed player cannot be confirmed as a part of England's official 1st match starting lineup for the 2026 FIFA World Cup within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/), however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
