World Cup: Player to be in Japan's Starting 11
What you need to know
This market asks whether each named player will actually be on the pitch when Japan kicks off their very first game at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Zion Suzuki is Japan's starting goalkeeper, Takefusa Kubo is a creative attacking midfielder, and Ayase Ueda is a striker — all three are core, regular starters for the national team. A Yes means the player is in the starting eleven and plays from the opening whistle. A No means they were left out, injured, suspended, or replaced before the game began. Each market settles Yes only if the named player is physically on the pitch at kick-off of Japan's first group stage match at the 2026 World Cup. There is one important edge case: if a player is announced in the starting lineup but then pulled out before the game starts — due to a last-minute injury, for example — that still counts as No. The deadline for confirmation is June 29, 2026. If the tournament is cancelled or postponed past that date, everything resolves No. FIFA's official records are the primary source. None of the provided news headlines relate to Japan's national football team, the 2026 World Cup, or any of the three players listed. There is nothing relevant to report from the given news. The kinds of updates that would matter here are injury reports for these players, Japan's final squad announcement, or any disciplinary news ahead of their opening match. All three players are priced at 94%, meaning the market sees them as very likely starters — but not certain. The realistic risks are narrow but real: a muscle injury in training or a late warm-up incident could pull any player out before kick-off, which would resolve as No even if announced in the lineup. Suspension or a sudden illness are also possible. The main uncertainty here is not whether the coach wants them to start — it's whether something unexpected happens between now and kick-off.

How this resolves
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player takes the field as a member of Japan's official starting lineup for the first group stage game the nation plays at 2026 FIFA World Cup. Otherwise, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If a player is officially announced as part of the starting lineup but is replaced before the game begins for any reason, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". Only players that are on the pitch at kick off will be counted toward a "Yes" resolution. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed after June 29, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the listed player cannot be confirmed as a part of Japan's official 1st match starting lineup for the 2026 FIFA World Cup within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/), however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
