Market structure

The market spans 19 possible outcomes, with volume broadly distributed rather than concentrated on a single favourite. Several teams — including the Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, and Dallas Cowboys — carry comparable backing, creating an unusually competitive field. An 'Other' outcome captures retirement, no signing, or a team not listed. Resolution is sourced from official NFL or team announcements, with a hard deadline of 31 August 2026.

Background

Tyreek Hill established himself as one of the NFL's most dangerous receivers during his years with the Kansas City Chiefs and later the Miami Dolphins, where he posted multiple high-volume seasons after a 2022 trade. His standing in Miami became uncertain following a series of off-field incidents in 2024 and reported friction with the organisation, fuelling widespread speculation about his future. Hill's combination of elite speed and route-running ability means his next destination carries significant implications for any offence, making his free-agent situation one of the more closely watched storylines of the 2025–26 NFL off-season. Teams with established quarterback situations and offensive schemes built around speed have featured most prominently in reporting around his potential suitors.

Key factors

Several structural factors shape how this market may resolve. Hill's age — he turns 32 in 2026 — and his existing contract situation with Miami will determine whether he is released, traded, or departs in free agency, each pathway carrying different timelines and eligible suitors. Teams with salary-cap flexibility and a demonstrated need at wide receiver are better positioned to complete a signing before the deadline. Quarterback fit matters: Hill has historically thrived alongside mobile, high-volume passers, which may narrow the realistic field. The NFL's legal tampering window and free-agency opening in March 2026 represent the most likely resolution trigger, though trades can occur at any point once the league year opens. If Hill sustains an injury, faces suspension, or chooses retirement, the market resolves to 'Other'. The August 31 deadline encompasses the entirety of the off-season and pre-season roster construction window, giving teams maximum opportunity to sign him before resolution.
