Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if 100 Thieves' CS2 roster qualifies for (i.e., participates in the main event/group stage of) any S-Tier CS2 tournament that concludes by June 1, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purpose of this market, an "S-Tier Event" refers to any tournament classified as S-Tier on Liquipedia.net. Online-only events, or events downgraded prior to event start (e.g., downgraded to A-Tier due to team attendance) do not qualify. If an S-Tier event is downgraded after it has concluded, this event will still qualify as an "S-Tier Event". Qualification is determined by the team appearing in the main tournament bracket or group stage as listed on Liquipedia.net (not merely being invited to qualifiers or play-ins unless they advance to the S-Tier main event). The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizers (e.g., ESL, PGL, BLAST.tv, etc.)
100 Thieves' CS2 roster is a very heavily marginalised contender in this market, with trading volume concentrated almost entirely on a 'No' outcome. The market asks whether the team will reach the main event or group stage of any Liquipedia-classified S-Tier CS2 tournament concluding before 1 June 2026. Resolution is drawn from official tournament organisers and Liquipedia classification.
Market structure
This is a binary yes/no market with a single resolution question. Volume is overwhelmingly concentrated on the 'No' outcome, making this a deeply asymmetric market. Resolution requires 100 Thieves to appear in a main bracket or group stage — not merely qualifiers or play-ins — at an S-Tier event as defined by Liquipedia. Online-only events and tournaments downgraded before they begin do not count. The deadline is 1 June 2026.
Background
100 Thieves re-entered the CS2 competitive scene after a period of roster rebuilding, but the organisation has faced significant challenges re-establishing itself among the upper tier of North American and global competition. S-Tier CS2 events — principally ESL Pro League, ESL One, PGL Majors, and BLAST Premier — represent the highest level of the competitive circuit and carry strict qualification pathways, typically requiring strong regional league performance or direct invitations earned through world ranking. The North American CS2 scene has historically struggled to place multiple teams consistently at the S-Tier level, intensifying the competition for the limited qualification slots available to the region. The window to June 2026 covers several major qualification cycles, including ESL Pro League seasons and potential BLAST events.
Key factors
Several structural factors govern whether this market resolves 'Yes'. First, 100 Thieves must perform strongly enough in regional competition — principally ESL Pro League North America or equivalent qualifier circuits — to earn a spot in an S-Tier main event. Regional league standings, playoff results, and any open qualifier performances all feed into this pathway. Second, the composition and form of the roster matters: roster changes, player availability, and in-game leadership can affect competitive output across a multi-month window. Third, the calendar of S-Tier events scheduled before June 2026 determines how many qualification opportunities exist; fewer S-Tier events means fewer chances. Fourth, the Liquipedia classification of any event the team attends must hold — if an event is downgraded to A-Tier before it begins, it does not count. Finally, world ranking-based invitations, where applicable, could provide an alternative pathway if the team accumulates sufficient ranking points through A-Tier or lower-tier performances.
FAQ
How is the '100 Thieves qualify to an S-tier tournament by June 1' market resolved?
The market resolves 'Yes' if 100 Thieves' CS2 roster appears in the main event bracket or group stage of any Liquipedia-classified S-Tier CS2 tournament concluding by 1 June 2026. Participation only in qualifiers or play-ins, without advancing to the main event, does not count. The primary resolution sources are official tournament organisers and Liquipedia.net.
When does the 100 Thieves S-tier qualification market resolve?
The market resolves once any qualifying S-Tier event concludes before 1 June 2026, 11:59 PM ET. If no S-Tier tournament featuring 100 Thieves in its main event has concluded by that deadline, the market resolves 'No' at the deadline.
What happens if an S-Tier event is downgraded after 100 Thieves participate?
If an event holds S-Tier status at the time it concludes, a subsequent downgrade does not affect resolution — the event still qualifies. However, if the event is downgraded to A-Tier or below before it begins, it does not count regardless of 100 Thieves' participation.
What does the market currently show for 100 Thieves qualifying to an S-tier event?
Trading is overwhelmingly concentrated on a 'No' outcome, with the 'Yes' position representing a very small fraction of market weight. This reflects the significant structural barriers 100 Thieves currently face in qualifying for the main events of top-tier CS2 tournaments within this timeframe.
