Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Kraken's private market valuation, as measured by the NPM Price reported by Nasdaq Private Market, LLC (NPM) for any date between market creation and June 30, 2026, reaches or exceeds the listed amount. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". NPM Prices are published for trading days only and are updated once daily at 1:00 PM ET on the following calendar day. If NPM has not published relevant data for all business dates in the specified period by 1:00 PM ET on July 1, 2026, this market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on July 4, 2026. If no further data is released by that time, the market will resolve according to the data available. If NPM ceases publishing relevant data prior to the end of the specified period, this market will resolve based on the NPM data published for the period prior to the cessation of coverage, as well as any applicable public market capitalization data following an IPO or direct listing. If the company completes an IPO or direct listing before the end of the specified period, this market will consider, in addition to the relevant NPM valuations published between market creation and the IPO or direct listing date, the valuation implied by the official IPO or direct listing price, and the company's public market capitalization between the IPO or direct listing date and the end of the specified period. Public market capitalization will be determined using the highest/lowest official regular-hours trading price published for the company's primary listed common equity on its primary exchange for any trading day during the specified period, multiplied by the company's total outstanding common shares at the relevant time. If the listed company merges with or acquires another entity and remains the parent company, no change to resolution methodology applies. If the listed company is acquired, merges into another entity and is no longer the surviving parent company, or otherwise ceases to exist as an independent entity prior to the end of the period, only NPM valuations and applicable public market capitalizations achieved prior to completion of the transaction will be considered for resolution. No transaction, acquisition, or merger consideration will be considered for resolution. The resolution source for this market is NPM data published here: (https://fe.secondmarket.com/companies/company-ab5413cb-1c83-497e-b03e-2ed7ca70117d/data?return_url=https://polymarket.com/finance/privates). The resolution source for any period following an IPO, direct listing, or relevant corporate action, will be official exchange trading data and publicly reported share counts. Revisions to previously published NPM data made after their initial release will not be considered, unless made to correct clearly erroneous data.
Kraken's private market valuation market on Polymarket tracks whether the exchange's NPM Price, as reported by Nasdaq Private Market, reaches various thresholds by 30 June 2026. Volume is heavily concentrated around the $10–$12.5 billion range, suggesting the market treats that band as the most contested territory. Resolution is determined by the highest NPM Price recorded on any trading day between market creation and 30 June 2026, with a fallback window extending to 4 July 2026.
Market structure
The market spans 11 outcome thresholds, from sub-$9 billion to over $20 billion. Implied probability is heavily concentrated in the $10–$12.5 billion band, with the $10.75 billion and $12.5 billion thresholds the heaviest-backed 'Yes' outcomes. Thresholds above $15 billion attract markedly thinner volume. Resolution uses NPM's daily published price; if Kraken completes an IPO or direct listing before the deadline, public market capitalisation data is incorporated. The primary resolution deadline is 1 July 2026 at 12:00 UTC, with a fallback to 4 July 2026.
Background
Kraken is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges globally, founded in 2011 and headquartered in San Francisco. It has long been considered a likely IPO candidate, with reports of exploratory preparations surfacing periodically since at least 2021. The exchange operates across spot trading, futures, staking, and custody services, serving both retail and institutional clients in dozens of jurisdictions. Its valuation is sensitive to broader cryptocurrency market conditions, regulatory developments in the United States and Europe, and the competitive landscape among centralised exchanges. Nasdaq Private Market provides secondary-market price discovery for pre-IPO companies, making its published NPM Price the agreed reference for this market's resolution. A public listing, should one occur before 30 June 2026, would shift the resolution source to official exchange trading data.
Key factors
Kraken's NPM valuation is primarily driven by sentiment in the broader digital-asset market — significant moves in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or trading volumes across the sector tend to affect exchange valuations directly. Regulatory clarity, particularly in the United States following ongoing litigation and legislative activity around crypto oversight, could re-rate the company materially in either direction. Any formal IPO filing or direct listing announcement would introduce public-market pricing and potentially greater valuation volatility into the resolution calculation. Competitive dynamics with other centralised exchanges, including market-share shifts and fee compression, are structural considerations. Liquidity in the NPM secondary market itself can limit how frequently prices update and how closely they track fundamental changes. If NPM ceases coverage, the fallback to public market capitalisation data only activates following an IPO or direct listing — an absence of coverage without a listing would mean resolution defaults to the last available NPM data published before cessation.
FAQ
How is the Kraken valuation market resolved?
The market resolves 'Yes' for a given threshold if Kraken's NPM Price, as published by Nasdaq Private Market, reaches or exceeds that amount on any trading day between market creation and 30 June 2026. Following an IPO or direct listing, the highest daily public market capitalisation during the period is also considered. Revisions to previously published NPM data are disregarded unless correcting a clear error.
When does the Kraken valuation market resolve?
The primary resolution deadline is 1 July 2026 at 12:00 UTC (1:00 PM ET). If NPM data for all business dates in the period has not been published by that time, the market may remain open until 11:59 PM ET on 4 July 2026. If no further data is released by then, resolution proceeds on whatever data is available.
What happens if Kraken completes an IPO before the deadline?
If Kraken completes an IPO or direct listing before 30 June 2026, the market incorporates both the NPM valuations recorded prior to the listing and the public market capitalisation — calculated from the highest official trading price multiplied by total outstanding shares — for each trading day between the listing date and the end of the period.
What does the Kraken valuation market currently show?
Volume is heavily concentrated in the $10–$12.5 billion band. The $10.75 billion and $12.5 billion 'Yes' thresholds are the heaviest-backed outcomes. Thresholds above $15 billion, including the $17.5 billion and $20 billion levels, attract considerably thinner support, while outcomes below $10 billion show moderate but meaningful volume.
